Meet the Team

After leaving college to train as a Marine Engineering Officer and joining the Merchant Navy, Alan decided to retrain and joined NWS Bank Plc in 1987 as a trainee. He quickly climbed the ranks and became one of the Country’s leading Branch Managers based in London. In 1997 Alan left to set up a finance brokerage in Bath, which soon became one of the country’s leading asset finance brokerages.

In 2005 following a relocation to Cornwall, he founded Ignition Credit PLC which was a hybrid lender/broker. This business was successfully sold to Star Asset Finance in 2015 which is backed by a European Private Equity fund.

In 2018 following the earn out of Ignition Credit, Alan set up CapInvest Finance as an Appointed Representative of Ignition Credit PLC, to continue to support his long standing client base and further assist with the development of Ignition from within it’s new home.

In his spare time Alan is a passionate car and motorcycle enthusiast and his hobbies include boating, golf, walking, dining out and travel.
